Protect babies and young children by eradicating lead poisoning

One in 38 American children have lead poisoning, because 24 million homes contain elevated levels of lead in paint or dust, and lead is nearly universal in schools and many childcare centers. Yet no federal agency has responsibility for lead remediation in homes and schools, and Congress all but eliminated funding for lead poisoning prevention in sequestration. O’Malley will restore funding for state programs and create an interagency task force that integrates state-level experts to find solutions that keep children safe and healthy.
